Love Hurts, so is Moving!!
You couldn’t agree more, for those who have been nomadic – you know for sure how Moving can hurt you… especially your back, and your cash flow.
Anyway, I won’t complaint… this has been the most seeking forward things in the last few months. You don’t need to ask why, I’ve got thousand reasons behind. Let’s start with – have you ever spend 3 hours ironing a big pile of clothes? Even with consequtive shows of Desperate Housewives, Seinfield, Sex and the City, Will and Grace plus local news – it is simply a disastorous activity for both neck and arms (why hasn’t anybody bothered to invent a household scale pressing machine??)
I can tell you that the prospect of living (again) in polluted and crazy Jakarta could smell like flower when you spend your time long enough abroad. Although I would say that Houston is just the best option among other places I could think of. The weather is pretty similar to Jakarta, just sometimes a little hotter or a little colder (just a little hehe). Plus, it has all the cooking materials needed to make Indonesian dishes. Plus, the people are a pretty nice. Plus etc etc… anyway it couldn’t make the homesick feeling subsides easily.
Back to MOVING, well I guess I am done with the toughest part – moving our major belongings. With several consequtive late sleeps trying to sort out the things and packing them securely… finally they are all packed, perhaps somewhere on the way to Jakarta.
I’ve still got many homeworks, but as much as I try to relax and enjoy – I am admitting my limited capacity to handle stress caused by the process. I simply worry too much, hopefully this is normal (which I have to confirm by talking to friends who had survived this) otherwise I need to see an expert LOL
Monday, July 30th… 21 days to go
